Our Opinion

This incident underscores Jamaica’s ongoing struggle with gun violence and misplaced glorification of criminal activity. While law enforcement’s coordinated response prevented further loss of life, the fact that some citizens romanticize such violent defiance is troubling. Real heroes are the shopkeepers, families, and communities who continue to uphold peace and resilience in the face of crime.
