Water Supply Restored in Rose Hall, Coral Gardens After Major Disruption

Water access has been mostly restored to communities in Rose Hall and Coral Gardens, following a recent disruption along a key pipeline, according to Montego Bay Mayor Richard Vernon.

Water Restored, But Some Areas Still Affected

Mayor Vernon confirmed that most residents now have running water, though Lilliput and Providence are still experiencing temporary outages. These are expected to be resolved within hours.

Residents still facing issues are encouraged to contact local representatives for assistance.

Roadworks & Detour Advisory

In addition to the water issue, ongoing road repairs continue in the area. A planned detour will be in effect Monday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., rerouting motorists through Coral Gardens. The A1 dual carriageway to Rose Hall will remain open.

To combat dust from roadworks, the Jamaica Fire Brigade has been mobilized to provide relief to both residents and businesses.

Our Opinion

While the disruption was inconvenient, the coordinated response shows promise. We encourage continued communication between residents and officials to ensure smoother management of essential services like water and road maintenance.
