Salt Marsh, Trelawny, A deadly early morning crash along the Salt Marsh main road in Trelawny has left five people dead and several others injured, casting a shadow over what was meant to be a festive trip to Hanover.
The incident occurred around 2:30 a.m. on Sunday, when a Toyota Hiace minibus carrying public transport operators from Portmore and Spanish Town flipped multiple times before slamming into a utility pole. Eyewitnesses reported the vehicle skidded for nearly 50 metres, uprooting palm trees and ejecting several occupants.

Seven other passengers were taken to Falmouth Public General Hospital, with two released later that morning. The condition of the remaining victims is not yet known.
