KINGSTON, Jamaica |
Optimum Jamaica, the local arm of U.S.-based telecommunications giant Altice USA, has officially joined the Jamaica Manufacturers and Exporters Association (JMEA), marking a significant step toward deeper integration within the island’s business ecosystem.
As a captive contact centre based in Kingston, Optimum Jamaica plays a crucial role in providing high-quality customer support to U.S. customers of Optimum’s broadband and video services. Now, through this JMEA partnership, the company is reinforcing its commitment to corporate citizenship, local economic development, and Jamaica’s digital transformation.
Strategic Membership to Empower Jamaican Enterprise
Optimum Jamaica’s entry into the JMEA follows its recent induction into the Private Sector Organisation of Jamaica (PSOJ) in May, highlighting the company’s growing footprint and engagement in the local business environment.
Leon Davis, Senior Director and Site General Manager of Optimum Jamaica, shared that the partnership reflects the company's long-term investment in Jamaica.
“We are proud to join the JMEA, an organisation that shares our vision for economic empowerment and local development. Through the JMEA, we look forward to working alongside other Jamaican businesses to drive innovation, collaboration, and long-term impact,” said Davis.
JMEA Welcomes Optimum’s Service Sector Strength
Welcoming Optimum Jamaica to its membership, JMEA President Kathryn Silvera emphasized the importance of strategic collaborations in accelerating job creation and economic resilience.
“As a major employer leveraging Jamaican talent to serve international markets, Optimum represents exactly the kind of forward-thinking, globally connected operation that aligns with our vision for a diversified and resilient economy,” said Silvera.
Silvera noted that Optimum’s focus on customer service, employee retention, and quality assurance enhances the company’s capacity to contribute meaningfully to national development.
Driving Forward Through Talent and Technology
As Jamaica intensifies its focus on service excellence and digital transformation, Optimum Jamaica’s presence offers a model of how global companies can harness local talent to support international operations while building strong local partnerships.
With a workforce rooted in the heart of Kingston, the company aims to enhance brand loyalty, deliver superior service, and support job creation. Through JMEA’s expansive network, Optimum also gains access to advocacy support, sector linkages, and tools to foster long-term competitiveness.
