TWO DEADIN HORRIFIC PRE-DAWN CRASH ALONG LILLIPUT MAIN ROAD

ST JAMES, JAMAICA  A deadly early morning crash along the Lilliput main road in St James has left two men dead and several others, including an infant, hospitalized.

The accident happened around 4:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 8, near an area of ongoing road construction.

Reports indicate that a Mazda Demio motor car, carrying four passengers, collided head-on with a Mazda Premacy traveling in the opposite direction. The impact caused both vehicles to plunge into a ditch.

Upon arrival, firefighters discovered two men unresponsive. They were rushed to the hospital but pronounced dead shortly after. The men, whose identities have not yet been released, are believed to be foreign nationals living in Jamaica.

The remaining passengers from both vehicles  including an infant  sustained varying injuries and were transported to the hospital for emergency care. Their current conditions remain unknown.

⚠️ Ongoing Investigation

Authorities are now investigating the circumstances of the crash. Preliminary information suggests that road conditions near the construction zone may have played a role.

Motorists are being advised to drive with extreme caution, especially along high-risk construction zones in the early hours of the morning.

🕯️ Tragedy on the Road

This latest incident adds to Jamaica’s troubling streak of fatal crashes, many involving reckless driving, poor lighting, and hazardous road conditions. The loss of two lives, particularly foreign nationals, has once again raised alarms about road safety measures in high-traffic zones.

🗣️ Our Opinion

While the government continues to upgrade roads across the island, incidents like these remind us that construction zones require strict speed regulation, better lighting, and improved signage. Lives are being lost in areas where more could be done. Our hearts go out to the victims and their families.
